John Strang listed as a shoemaker in the 1861 census was probably Stephen's son. JOHN WESLEY STRANG John Wesley Strang was the second son of Ephraim Allen Jr. and Anne Maria (Brooks) Strang of Burton Lot 7. John Wesley lived in the U.S . for years and returned to live at Centreville Bedeque where he bought a home. A few years later, his wife became ill, and moved to a nursing home in Kensington . John Wesley left Bedeque , and moved to Lower Freetown , where he lived in a house trailer near the home of Walter E . and Mae Stavert in Freetown . John Wesley was the researcher of the family and a member of the United Empire Loyalist Association (see Strang history). John Wesley was b. in Lot 7. He m. Beatrice Palmer , a sister of Adelbert Palmer , Searletown and dau. of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Palmer . Fred was well known in his trade of moving buildings. John and Beatrice had no children. WILLIAM TAYLOR The records show, that William Taylor "The Miller" of Bedeque , on Feb. 28, 1810 bought 320 acres of land from George Thompson of Bedeque , in 1815 he obtained a 999 year lease of 305 acres along the north side of the Dunk River . A total of 106 acres of the 320 was later deeded to Simon Reeves , William Taylors ' son-in-law, for the sum of twenty pounds. Simon Reeves had come from England in response to a request from William Taylor "The Miller" for a helper, he married Taylor's daughter Sarah. In 1824 William Taylor gave a (deed of gift) to his son, John, of 305 and 214 acres of land and thus began the lives and tenures of the Taylor family in Freetown . The first home in which William Taylor lived was a home and buildings on the site presently occupied by Howard Schurman . He first purchased a parcel of land, between the road from Central Bedeque to the Hatchery Bridge, and Route 1 to Charlottetown . Mr Schurman relates that the Taylors lived in a log cabin near the present house, and that Mrs. Taylor was burnt to death when the cabin burned. Mrs. Taylor was frail and miserable and unable to get out when the fire started. William Taylor and his first wife had at least two ch. He m. 2. Sarah Chappell . 2a Sarah b. in England . She m. They are bur. in Lower Bedeque Cem. + 2b John Taylor John Taylor received a "Deed of Gift" of two lots of land from his father, code 126 and 127 also codes 46,47,48 and 50 and possibly code 14. Code 50 was given to Simon and Sarah (Taylor) Reeves for the sum of 20 pounds by her father William Taylor . John d. 7 Nov. 1849 and Bridget d. 22 Apr. 1859.
