Taylor "Fred" as he was called, was a farmer, and when a young man spent many months working on a farm in Vermont , U.S. He also lived and worked on a farm in North Bedeque for five years. He spent the rest of his life in Freetown , where he owned 100 acre farm (code 12) on the Road and occupied the homestead with his brother John. The land is owned by William Cairns and Sons in 1985. Fred loved horses, and was always happy when he had a nice snappy driving horse to groom and take for a drive. He liked a good horse trade, too. Fred and Clara (Burns) Taylor had four ch. surname Taylor and b. in Freetown . 5a 4j3a2b Horace Robert b. 17 Sept. 1899. He was killed in the First World War at Arras, France, 2 Sept. 1918; n.m. + 5b 4j3a2b Charles Basil b. 13 June 1905 at North Bedeque . He m. Vera Leard , Augustine Cove . 5c 4j3a2b John Sutherland b. 24 Apr. 1907; n.m. and lived on the farm until he joined the services and served overseas for four years in World War II. He returned home to continue farming until 1977 when he sold the farm to Grant McDonald . He continued to live in the house until he d. June 1980. The house has now been removed from the site. 5d 4j3a2b Muriel b. 20 Apr. 1912. She m. Albert E. Stetson 27 Dec. 1933 and moved to South Freetown . He was b. 31 Oct. 1905. They engaged in mixed farming until 1961, when ill health forced him to sell most of the land and the buildings, reserving 10 ac. They purchased a house, and moved it near the former house where Muriel resides in 1985. Albert d. 30 July 1975. They raised two daughters: Norma and Linda. He then moved to the homestead, where he farmed his fathers land. He also did some carpentry work. She graduated from Three Oaks High School. She received a B.Sc . at Mt. Allison University in May, 1985, with distinction. She plans to do research in Sackville and work towards obtaining an M.Sc . 7b 6a5b4j3a2b Wendy b. 1966. She graduated from Three Oaks High School, and is a part time cashier at Sobeys store in Summerside . 7c 6a5b4j3a2b Shawn b. 1968.
