. James was a wheelwright by trade, and he is credited with building the first cart to be seen in these
parts. It was wholly built of wood and was drawn by a team of oxen. Janet Neill was a dau. of Robert Neill whose ancestors came from Dumfries, Scotland. He m. Catherine Scott Stavert in 1820. After Robert Neill d. Catherine Scott m. Andrew B. Humphrey. They continued living on the farm known later as the Humphrey farm in Kelvin Grove, where Olive and son Wayne Clark and family reside in 1985.

John and Janet (Neill) Walker had ten children. They all lived in Freetown. Eliza b. 31 May 1863. She m. John D. Palmer and they had four ch: Robert, Allan, Edgar and Ingham. Katherine Esther (Essie) b. 31 July 1865. She m. Allan Taylor: no children.
Isabella b. 1 Jan. 1867; m. Ingham Wright.
James Archibald b. 13 May 1869. He m. Katherine ( ? ). They had two ch: Marvin and Katherine.
Robert Neill b. 25 Dec. 1870. He m. Maye Louise Hyde. They had two daughters: Janet Roberta (Jean) and Doris Helen.
Margaret Euphemia b. 8 Nov. 1872. She m. Joseph Taylor, Freetown. They had two sons: Willard and John Caleb. Joseph and Allan Taylor were brothers.
John Stafford b. 1 July 1875. He m. Anna Sophia Rogers b. 24 Jan. 1879, dau. of David and Louise (Wright) Rogers of Freetown.
Andrew b. 5 Sept. 1877. He d. 6 May 1893. 449
