A Quoits Team in Kinkora in 1903 and 1904 with the name, Stalworths, competed against teams from Summerside and Miscouche; they were usually defeated by the former, but in turn usually defeated the latter. (49) uuoits is a field sport similar to horseshoes, in which players try to ring pegs set in the ground. The name, Stalworths, with its implied.surness and strength, seems particularly appropriate for Kinkora at the beginning of this century. Sure in their identity, and enjoying the profits from their own, and the past labor of their ancestors, they may just have believed the words of Prime Minister Wilfred Laurier,
that the twentieth century belonged to them.
