There was a great response to the committee’s fund-raising campaign, and they were able, with the help of families and friends, to do an outstanding job in clearing up and landscaping the cemetery. It was a wonderful transformation, and the cemetery won a prize in the Rural Beautification competition later in 1981. The good work continues and the cemetery is a joy to behold instead of the eyesore it once was.
