In 1905 an autograph quilt was made, of white cotton with the 'names worked on in scarlet; the quilt raised $14.95' for the W.M.S. _funds and was finally bought for $10.00 by Mr. Alexander MacDonald of Dalvay. Other activities of the group included Missionary lunches, picnics, pie socials, a strawberry festival and organising a Band of Hope for children.
In 1908 Mrs. George Alexander was the Honorary President and Miss Annie C. Bovyer the President; other officers were Mrs. R.P. Lank, Miss Jane Bovyer, Miss Annie Alexander, and Mrs. James Hughes. Another missionary quilt was made, this time in the Irish
chain pattern. There were many interesting talks on missionary work 1n China,
India and Japan over the years, particularly from 1909 to 1912. Apparently this Stanhope group came to an end in 1913.
