BAMBRICK

Robert and Cora (née Cole) came to Stanhope in 1972 from Ingonish Beach, Cape Breton, and lived here for three years in a mobile home belonging to Barry Ross located on land owned by Reg Ross, Barry’s father, on the Stanhope East Road, between the Marshall and Thorne properties. Robert worked for Parks Canada as a Technical Officer. In 1975 he was transferred and they moved away from Stanhope, to Caledonia, Queen’s County, N.S. Robert has since retired from his work with Parks Canada. The Bambricks have seven children: Paul, Geraldine, Sharon, Corinne, Edwin, Claude and Marlene.

BAXTER

Herbert Baxter, with his wife Lillian Elizabeth MacAleer and daughter Dorothy, moved to Stanhope from Charlottetown 1n 1952. Herbert was born on the 18 June, 1914, the son of John Baxter and his wife Jessie Johnston of the village of Mere Green, Warwickshire, England; Lillian was born on the 9 November, 1912, the daughter of John Frederick MacAleer and his wife Bertha May Roberts of Charlottetown.
