of 190 acres, which included a fine house, as well as a good set of farm buildings. Here Jim engaged in mixed farming, raising many sheep and heavy work horses. He was a good neighbour and always ready to help anyone in need; interested, too, in the betterment of the community, and very willing to lend a hand in any good project. Jim belonged to the Presbyterian Church, and was also a member of the Orange Lodge. Margaret died in 1911, on the 2nd of October, and they are both buried in West Covehead cemetery.

Coles, b. 6 July, 1864, d. 16 July, 1942, m. 11 Oct., 1900 to Ida May Marshall (b. 21 May, 1878, d. 19 May, 1966), dau. of Robert and Cordelia (Kielly) Marshall. They lived in Massachusetts, later moving to Covehead. 4 5., see below.
Bradford, b._20 Sept., 1867, d. July, 1910. Never married. William Collingwood (Will), b. 1 Feb., 1870, d. July, 1947. Never married. George Ernest, b. 26 0012., 1873, d. 19 Aug., 1875.
George Ernest, b. 3 May, 1876, went to California, m. on 27 Nov., 1901, 1 s., 1 dau. Never came back home.
Hilda, b. 30 July, 1879, d. 23 N ov., 1971, m. Benjamin Chappell from Sherbrooke. They moved to Jamaica Plain, Mass; and had 2 s. and 1 dau. See Chappell family history. After Benjamin’s death. Hilda married Archie Andrews from Breadalbane, P.E.I.; no family. Archie worked in the City of Boston sanitation department, for many, many years with Raymond Griffin, the father of Mary Griffin, Clifford Shaw's wife, who now lives in Stanhope.
