February, 1948 to John William and Margaret (Reeves) Cameron of
Stanchel, were married on the 24 October, 1970 in St. James’ United Church, West Covehead.
Heather’s father donated a lot on the east side of the Stanhope Main Road as a wedding gift; Bill’s father donated lumber off his woodlot; and family and friends helped Bill cut lumber for their house, which was built during the period July-October 1971. In 1974 they added a garage; in 1975, a patio; and in 1977, the basement was finished. In 1980 the Camerons built two winterised cottages, which they rent. Bill works as a paving supervisor; Heather has been a telephone operator and has helped with local farm work. She teaches in the Stanhope Sunday School and has served as its superintendent; she has also worked with the Stanhope Beavers.

CAMPBELL
Malcolm and Doreen Campbell came to live in Stanhope in 1964,
in a mobile home on the property of Reg Ross on the Eastern Road near Stanhope Corner. Malcolm is the son of Hugh A. and Jessie (MacKay) Campbell of Graham’s Road; Doreen is the daughter of H. Beecher Dennis and Hazel (Maynard) Dennis of Arlington, P.E.I. They were married in 1957 and were engaged in farming on the Campbell homestead until moving to Stanhope in 1964, when Malcolm was employed with the P.E.I. National Park at Dalvay. They lived in the mobile home until 1968, when they bought land from Warren Marshall and built their present home. They have two daughters: Debra, who lives in Calgary, Alberta, where she is employed with the Bank of Nova Scotia; and Sandra, who is married to Boyd Murray and lives in Pleasant Grove. Malcolm is presently employed as Manager of the
Canada Employment Centre in Montague. Doreen opens the home to tourists and is kept most busy during the summer months.
