Angus was listed as aged 60 in the Spencer’s passenger list in 1806; but at the time of his death, 4 March, 1813, his age was also given as 60, so his date of birth could be 1746 or 1753. He was married to Effie McAlister who was also on the Spencer, and it is not known if Angus was the father of all the other Darrochs on board. In 1807 he leased land on St. Peter’s Road, and in 1811 agreed that his son-in-law Donald Shaw should have full share of this land, paying James Robertson of St. Peter’s Road. This agreement was witnessed by Malcolm Darroch and Donald McGregor. There is also a letter regarding the estate of the late Angus Darroch and Donald Shaw to Peter Stewart, dated 1815. Donald Shaw had no issue, and it is not known if he was related to the other Shaws of Lot 34.

Malcolm, born in 1786, died on the 26 January, 1864, and was married on March 9, 1811 by James Curtis to Janet Shaw (1782-1859), the daughter of Malcolm and Margaret (Murphy) Shaw. They had seven children; we have some information on all of them.
