successful fox rancher. Agnes kept busy with gardening, hooking, sewing, and the usual chores associated with the farm. She was a skilled seamstress, receiving her training from Miss Bessie Essery in Charlottetown, and doing sewing for many people. She was also a music teacher, and served as organist at Stanhope Presbyterian Church for several years. She was a charter member of the Stanhope Women’s Institute. .

In 1946 Percy and Agnes built a cottage on the property and lived there until Percy died in July, 1961 as the result of a farm accident, when he fell from a load of hay; he was sixty-eight. Agnes then went to live with her only child, Lawrence Keith, until her death in December, 1976, at the age of eighty-six. Percy and Agnes are buried in West Covehead cemetery.
