GUNN

David Gunn (b. 1 May, 1926, St. John’s, Newfoundland) and his wife Gerri Tobin (b. St. John’s, Newfoundland) came to P.E.I. in 1974 to work with the CBC. in Charlottetown.

In 1975 they bought a lot on Parson’s Creek Drive in Stanhope, and in 1976 they built their home, which they occupied, mainly in the summers, until leaving the Island for Halifax, NS; they sold their house to David Power in 1982.

GUNTER

Gary and Shirley Gunter came to Stanhope from Bramalea, Ontario in 1983. In February of that year they bought a house and 18 acres of land from Geoffrey (Jake) and Janice Shaw on the Stanhope East Road; they moved in on June 1, 1983.

Gary is the son of Percy and Doris Gunter of South Durham, Quebec, and Shirley is the daughter of Allen and Nora Royal of Danville, Quebec. They came to P.E.I. partly because Gary has a brother living here, and partly because they liked the Island after spending a vacation here. They rent the 18 acres behind their house to James Allen next door. Shirley operates the “Featherbed Cattery”, breeding purebred registered Persian cats.

The Gunters have two daughters:

1. Dawn, b. 27 April, 1966; she attends Grade XII in Bramalea, Ont.

2. Patti, b. 2 Dec., 1969; she attends Stonepark Junior High School in Charlotte- town.
