1897 to 1900. He then moved out West, where he married; his children were Lome, Blanche, Lorraine and Henry. Margaret, or Maggie, remained on the family homestead helping with the Post Office and the farm until she and her brother Henry Addison Curtis left Stanhope to go to Oak Lake, Manitoba in 1918; they continued on the farm after the deaths of their parents until then. Henry was very interested in sports, and won two silver cups for placing first in races held in in 1909. He married in Manitoba and had two sons, both now living in Winnipeg. Maggie remained with Henry's family until her death in 1956. Henry was never able to come back home to the old homestead, of which he spoke very often. Albert Henry Curtis Lawson , Henry Curtis ' grandson, has the remainder of a beautiful set of dishes that had been in the Lawson family for generations. It is said that there would have been more dishes but when Henry and Mary were living in a small barn while their house was being built, a tame crow would come in the window and take the dishes out and let them fall, only to be broken into small pieces. Cornelius grew up in Stanhope and married his first cousin, Isabella, daughter of James and Elizabeth (Millar) Lawson. He owned a farm at the Head of where he was a master ship?? builder and widely known among those engaged in the fishing industry.... He was greatly beloved by all who had the pleasure of his acquaintance for his many social qualities, (from the Daily Examiner, 17 February, 1883). He and his family moved to , P.E.I. ,, where he remained for a few years before moving to Amboy with his daughter and son-in-law; he later died in New Jersey . In 1834 Cornelius and David Lawson built a schooner, Enterprise, of 121 tons, in , launched on July 24, 1834; and in 1843, Cornelius built a brigantine, the Monarch , of 111 tons, launched on May 20 of that year.
