Delmer Vail, Brook’s second son, above, is married to Evelyn (Effie) Peters of Hunter River. They bought a lot from Bert Misener in 1964, opposite Wally and Doris Reid’s property, and built their home in 1965. After Bert’s death in 1965, they purchased the remainder of his field from his widow Eleanor Misener. The Vails came to Stanhope from East Royalty, having lived previously in Charlottetown and Toronto. In 1979 they began an extensive renovation and enlargement of their home, building on a large room and a porch, and excavating a basement underneath. Delmer works with over-head doors.

VASS

Stanley and Elinor Vass came to live in Stanhope in 1972, having bought four acres of land, with a house, on the Bayshore Road near the Point from Mrs. George Hooper. They purchased a further adjoining two acres in 1977 from John, Anne and Christine MacDonald of Kilmuir, making a total of about six acres. This land was originally leased to Cornelius Higgins by Sir James Montgomery, subsequent tenants and owners being Peter Higgins, James MacMillan, Hazel MacMillan. Stanley and Elinor Vass moved to Bunbury, P.E.I. in September, 1978.

Stanley was born on August 20, 1919, in Moose Jaw, Sask., the son of Sheldon Thomas and Lily Mary (Gregory) Vass; he is a biologist. Elinor was born on March 5, 1926, the daughter of Harold and Norma Louise (Petch) Hopkins; she is a librarian. They have three children:—

1. William Peter, b. 15 Sept, 1948, Welland, Ont. 2. Valerie Ann, b. 18 Nov., 1951, Fredericton, N .B., m. to David Owen. 3. Norma Lillian, b. 22 Aug., 1963, Summerside, P.E.I.

WALKER

Gary and Heather (MacInnis) Walker were married in Charlotte- town on July 10, 1976 and rented the MacLauchlan farmhouse in Stanhope while they made plans for their new home, which they built in 1979, at MacLauchlan Highlands; builder Charles MacDonald. It was the first home to be built in this new sub-division. While they were living in Stanhope, Gary taught French at Colonel Gray High School in Charlottetown, and Heather was employed as a dental assistant with the Department of Dental Services, P.E.I. Government. In the fall of 1982 they sold their home to Gerard and Kendra Watts and moved back to Charlottetown.

Gary Walker was born on January 23, 1952 at Kenogami, Quebec, the son of Donald and Helen (Cheverie) Walker; and Heather was born
