Sat. 15 - Churned 5 lbs. butter. Charles to S’side, killed two chickens weight 8 lbs., 53 cts.

Tue. 25 - Xmas, fine day. Ada and Carrie May here for dinner. Hens laid one egg.

Sun. 30 — Fine, down to Uncle George’s for dinner, Jess came up with us. I was to preaching at the hall.

January, 1901

Fri. 4 - Very cold. Charles down to mill afternoon to pay the Captain in pork.

Wed. 16 - Fine, into Mr. Hackers woods with George Easter. Jim Arch. Harding here dressing sheep, down helping Will Clark put out mud digger.

Tue. 22 - Frosty, hauling plank from mill to Granpa Huestises, thrashing in afternoon. Queen Victoria died, born May 24, 1819.

(Queen in 1837).

Thu. 24 - Pouring rain most all day. Charles to mill for grist. I was spinning.

Fri. 25 - Fine, breaking mud road. Sat. 26 - Windy, cold, went to mud as far as Condons and turned.

Wed. 30 - Charles hauled two single loads of mud.

February, 1901

Sat. 2 — Fine, Charles to woods, bought 1/3 acre from Mr. Hacker for 1 team load of mud. Stormy at night.

Fri. 8 - Stormy, Charles sick.

Sat. 16 - Fine, Charles to S’side with barrel of apples, $2.25¢. We were all at Uncle George’s for tea.

Fri. 22 - Fine, Charles helping Granpa clean wheat for Jess in after— noon. We were over to John Burrows”.

Mon. 25 - Cold and drifting. Charles took Jess over to Centreville in afternoon.

Fri. 1 - Fine and cold. Charles working at poles.

Fri. 8 - Fine, Charles to S’side for load of shingles and boards. At poles in afternoon. [To build pole fences].
