     Aboutfifty years ago, in the month ofDecember,

     Horace and Stephen arose long before dawn,

     Down the Blueshank they went, at a very fast pace,

     They got to Reid’s Corner and picked up a girl

     They travelled on and made another stop 
     
    

    
     Picked up Minnie Lefurgey, who was right on the hop. 
     
    

    
     They made it to town to Mr. Harding ’5 all right, 
     
    

    
     Where Horace and Marian were married before ’twas daylight. 
     
    
   
   
    
     With their baggage and tickets, they jumped on the train, 
     
     While Stephen and Minnie went back to Wilmot again. 
     
     Roy and Blanche were supposed to attend the affair, 
     
    

    
     But were sleeping so soundly they didn ’t get there. 
     
    
   
   
    
     The pair went to Boston to spend their honeymoon, 
     
    

    
     Two weeks went by fast and they were back all too soon. 
     
    

    
     There was a reception at the Crozier estate 
     
    

    
     Prillie MacQuarrie cooked the goodies and the friends stayed late. 
     
    
   
   
    
     They settled down on thefarm, to live in style 
     
     But couldn ’t do this without a lot ofhard toil. 
     
     Tho’ the years were filled with unceasing labor 
     
     Horacefound time to be a good neighbor. 
     
    
   
   
    
     He helped out with school and huntedfor teachers, 
     
    

    
     Had Farm Forum, Men ’5 Institute and entertained preachers. 
     
     Marian ’s fame as a housekeeper spread far and wide 
     
    

    
     She cleaned and she polished, there were no cob webs inside. 
     
    
   
   
    
     They are proud oftheirfamily, of which there arefour, 
     
    

    
     Two boys and two girls, who could want more? 
     
    

    
     Kenneth and Marje are great workersfor church and for state 
     
     While Derek lends money at a high interest rate. 
     
    
   
   
    
     Ifyou have a new business and needfunds to grow 
     
     From the Industrial Bank, he will lendyou the dough. 
     
     Sandra plays hockey and wins many a game
