     3; Thomas, I), was born September 22, 1756. He died Aug. 1, 1825. He mar- 
     
     ried, first, March 7, 1782, Sarah Scott. She died April 12, 1783. He married, 
     
     second, December 8, 1786, Sarah Knowles, daughter of John and Susannah 
     
     Knowles, of Hopkinton, Rhode Island. Nailor Tom Hazard, in his diary, calls 
     
     him “ Blacksmith George”; he was also called “ Shoe—String George.” He lived 
     
     and died on his farm near Worden’s Pond, given to him by his father.

     there at the age (tradition says) of one hundred and two years. Mr. Thomas 
     
     R. Hazard, in his “ Recolleé‘tions of Olden Times,” says that he died between
