Youth Groups In 1965, the Bunbury Wolf Cub Pack formed, and began meeting

in the Bunbury School, with Don and Gail Livingstone, and Florence Kelly as Leaders. Shortly afterwards, Don Livingstone began a Scout Troop, with Don Stewart Jr., and Bill MacDonald assisting. Brian Scott organized a Venturer Company. Beavers began in 1974, under Lorna Gaudin and Brenda Godwin.

Brownies were organized in the early 1970’s, under the leadership of Chris McMurrer, Margie MacArthur, and Pat Walker. A Guide Troop formed later, with Mary Kickham, Shelly Hamm, and Zoanne MacEachem.

Bunbury also had an active Allied Youth group for many years.

Incorporation For several year prior to 1969, the affairs of the community were

administered by the Community Improvement Committee. On Saturday, May 17 of that year, a poll of the rate payers of Bunbury was held in accordance with the Village Service Act 1964. The majority of votes were cast in favour of becoming a village. On August 20, 1969, the Village Service Act was proclaimed to apply to the described part of the district of Bunbury. The Lieutenant Governor in Council appointed former Community Improvement Committee members Stuart MacKay, Wayne Cameron, and Len Hookey to act as commissioners until the annual meeting in February 1970. The commissioners were sworn in by a Justice of the Peace at the Charlottetown Court
