established in 1988. Over the past years, the playground and ball diamond associated with the former Bunbury School, have been greatly improved.

The official opening of the Quik-Pik in Bunbury was held June 14, 1986. A shopping mall later opened in the same area.

Bunbury Administrative Centre

Glen Stewart Elementary opened in 1975. The following year, the Bunbury Village Commission negotiated the purchase of the Bunbury School from the local school board for the sum of $8,250. The building was renamed the Bunbury Administrative Centre. On Friday, May 28, 1976, the Centre was officially opened.

Over the years, the Bunbury Administrative Centre has been used for community youth groups, kindergarten, bingo, card parties, and dances. Beyond housing the Bunbury Administrative Office, office space was rented to the communities of Southport and Keppoch-Kinlock, and the Bunbury-Southport Pollution Control Commission.

Residents of Bunbury held a mortgage burning ceremony for the Administrative Centre on September 26, 1994. The community had been making annual payments to the Unit Three School Board since January 30, 1976. The final payment was made on September 16, 1994.

Fire Protection

For many years, Bunbury received fire protection from the Parkdale Fire Department. After meeting with the newly formed fire department in Cross Roads on December 2, 1980, the commissioners made a decision that Bunbury would enter an
