Of the twelve bishops serving the Diocese of Charlottetown over the past 166 years, two were brothers: Henry and Louis O'Leary from New Brunswick who led the Island Church, one folĀ¬ lowing the other, from 1913 to 1930. Both became bishops at an early age - in their mid-thirties - and both died young, while still in their fifties. Their time on Prince Edward Island was one of expansion throughout the Diocese of Charlottetown , with lasting monuments to their memory. This booklet is a feeble attempt to recall one small slice of our diocesan history under the leadership of these New Brunswick brothers, the O 'Learys two. Father O'Shea is a priest of the Diocese of Charlottetown . His other published writings include IT HAPPENED IN IONA (1991) and A.E. BURKE (1993).
