Thursday, March 28, 1968 pools for the public. It could consist of almost any type of outdoor recreation such as horseback riding, riding schools, sports facilities. Could be theatre; could be handcrafts. Walter R. Shaw : Have them on Sunday? Hon . M. Lome Bonnell : Handcraft on Sunday, no we don't handcraft on Sunday. Walter R. Shaw : I meant the other things.... Hon . M. Lome Bonnell : It could be that we would experiment in the building of motels in the vicinity of these recreational complexes. J. Cyril Sinnott : Would you permit a question, Mr. Speaker , do I understand you to say that you might build some motels and thereby go in to competition with those who are already in the business? Hon . M. Lome Bonnell : I said we might build motels, not go into competition with anybody in the business but an experimental type of summer resort which could be put up with a low capital cost whereby the people could get a substantial return on their money. Then we would lease this motel to some private operator to operate if there was some need for it in the vicinity of the recreational complex. Lloyd G. MacPhail : Would the Speaker permit a question. These motels, would they be closed on Sunday along with the rest of the complex ? Hon . M. Lome Bonnell : Mr. Speaker , that will be the last question that I'll accept from that Honorable gentleman this evening since he doesn't want to ask at a ques¬ tion and get proper information other than to interrupt a speech which is vital to the whole Legislature. Walter R. Shaw : I believe it's ten o'clock, Mr. Speaker. L. George Dewar: I have an intelligent question. Would you be willing to suggest where these recreational complexes, what part of each County they'll be situated in ? Hon . M. Lome Bonnell : Mr. Speaker , I will be ready. This isn't the proper time nor the place to tell you because I don't really know that well myself. But I can assure you this, it won't be too far from O'Leary . L. George Dewar : Good. Walter R. Shaw : What about ? Hon . M. Lome Bonnell : Pardon ? Walter R. Shaw : What about ? Hon . Robert E. Campbell : St. Catherines . Strathgartney . Hon . M. Lome Bonnell : It won't be too far. . . . Walter R. Shaw : It's a nice section where I live out there and you have never come out yet. Hon . M. Lome Bonnell : I was out there last summer. Walter R. Shaw : You didn't even take a picture of it. Hon . M. Lome Bonnell : You have a lovely country out there and I couldn't under¬ stand how come they ever voted for you, that's the only thing that bothers me. Walter R. Shaw : I guess we have, and good people too. It's ten o'clock, Mr. Speaker. Hon. M. Lome Bonnell : You don't want to hear any more. Can I have an extra half hour? Walter R. Shaw : Go at it tomorrow morning. That's all right. Carry it over. Hon . M. Lome Bonnell : You're tired? —339—
