>tanlep Prtbge harbour autfjorttp Before the turn of the century the wharves in this area were owned by individuals who built wharves for their vessels to load or for visiting vessels to tie up and discharge their produce. Some of the well known wharves were the Capt. Dan Sutherland wharf at the end of the , or the Morris and Fyfe wharf. There are others. The federal Government purchased the most used one at the present wharf because it was equipped with weigh scales and good storage sheds. The right to this was given by W.T. His son, Matthew, moved it across the road to his property in 1994.
