burned down. The present house was the fourth one built by the parish.

St. Joseph’s Chapel, presently in Cavendish, was thought to have been built of materials from the 1876 church. Before being moved to its present location, it also served as the parish hall.

Sunday, July 18, 1993, was declared as a special day of celebration and homecoming to mark 150 years since the first church building was constructed at Hope River in 1843.
