SYNOPSIS OF ACTS

ACT I. The living room1 at Gage Manor, at about eight o’clock on a dark, stormy night in late October.

ACT 11. Same as in Act 1, about 2 minutes after the end of Act 1.

ACT III. Same as in previous acts. A few minutes after close. of Act. 2.

TIME—A dark, stormy evening toward the end of October.

PLACE—The living room in Gage Manor, the home of Roderick Gage.
