FLEMING JAMES E. FLEMING , M.D. , (Mar. 25, 1871-1954) son of Cornelius and Ann Canning Fleming, of North Rustico resided in Stanley Bridge for his working years. After he obtained his Medical Degree in 1901, he built a new home next to the Stanley Bridge Dairy . Dr. Fleming was twice married. {see MEDICAL) JAMES E. FLEMING m. 1. on Nov. 17, 1903 to CLARA HOGAN (1877-1927) daughter of William and Mary A. Nolan Hogan of Hope River . They had six children: 1. Mary Cornelia (Sept. 23, 1904 - Sept. 1942). Mary joined the Sisters of Notre Dame and taught school in Summerside , Charlottetown , and Montreal. {see Churches} 2. Elizabeth Eugenie R.N , b. Apr. 20, 1906 m. to James Mill (dec). Elizabeth taught school at St. Patrick's and Graham's Road before training as a nurse. The family lives in New Hampshire , U.S. They had four boys and one girl. 1. Jim 2. Larry 3. Stephen 4. Christopher 5. Peg 3. Margaret Eleanor b. Dec. 13, 1907. Margaret taught at Long River before working for forty years with Federal Civil Service Statistics in Ottawa. She is retired and lives in Charlottetown , PEL 4. Anne Catherine (May 3, 1909-1930). Anne looked after her mother when she was ill. Anne died as a young woman during surgery. 5. John Paul Rubens b. Jan. 21, 1915 m. 1. Lorna Meriam m. 2. Dorothy (Blacquiere) Laskey He served with the R.C.M.P , the R.C.D.F. Marine Squadron and as a R.C.A F air traffic controller. He retired in 1981 and presently lives in North Rustico , PEL Paul and Lorna had two children Sonny, (dec.) and Maureen 6. Levisa Mary Johanna (Mar. 31, 1918 -July 1990) m. Rudolf Kelly. Levisa taught school and took nurses training. Five boys and seven girls were born to them.
