FLEMING DR . J.E. FLEMING m. 2. on Nov. 1929 to ALMA DELANEY of French River . They had a family of four children: 1. Katherine'Kay' b. Oct. 21, 1931 m. Donald Johnston (dec). Kay went to Ottawa and worked for the Federal Government for a number of years. The family lives in Greely, Ontario with their family of one boy and three girls. Namely: 1. Daniel 2. Jeanie 3. Laura 4. Margaret Ann 2. Helen Virginia b. Mar. 24, 1933 m. Gerald Curran (dec). Virginia taught school for a number of years before going to Ottawa to work. After marrying, Virginia and Gerry moved to Penfield, New York . They have two girls: 1. Catheline 2. Mary Ann 3. James b. Dec. 10, 1935 m. Nita Maclntyre . They presently live in Cornwall , PEL Nita is a Registered Nurse and Jim was a trucker, as well as co-owner of the "Livestock Barn" in Charlottetown . They have three children: 1. Terri 2. John 3. Jason . Richard b. Ottawa, ON. Mar. 3, 1937. Richard is Associate Dean of Carleton University, Dr. J.E. Fleming and his wife, Alma Delaney Fleming SMITH Earl Carr purchased the Fleming property from Mrs. Alma Fleming on Aug. 29, 1955. He in turn sold it to JOSEPH SMITH, Clinton on Aug. 20, 1957. Joseph was the son of Theodore and Priscilla (Manderson) Smith of Margate . "Joe" studied for his Teacher's license at Prince of Wales College. He taught school on Prince Edward Island and in before enlisting in the Armed Forces in World War II. In 1945 Joe purchased the James Paynter house in Clinton - on the Cow-. He sold this property to the Holman family in 1957 and moved with his mother to Stanley Bridge . Here they produced beau¬ tiful garden products and continued with their rug hooking. 281
