Thomas Hiscott Sr. and his wife Frances Jane Chalk CHALK
MARY ELIZABETH CHALK (1868 — May 31, 1968), one child of a family of seven children, was the daughter of Thomas and Jane Matthews Chalk, of Burnt Island, Newfoundland, and sis- ter of Frances Jane Chalk Hiscott, of Stanley Bridge. Everyone knew her as Aunt Polly. Aunt Polly was a Nurse, and worked with the same family in New York City, for over fifty years. She retired to Stanley Bridge, Prince Edward Island, rather than return to Newfoundland. While in the village she lived with her nephew, James and his wife Leonora Hiscott. She loved to trav— el and her grand niece, Hilda Hiscott Fyfe, spent many hours taking her to areas of interest on
the Island.
Aunt Polly never missed a Sunday Church service at the local church, whether it was summer or winter. She lived to be 100 years of age and is buried in Cavendish Cemetery.
