COUSINS

Hugh Cousins was known in the area as a pump and block maker. The family lived on the New London Road opposite the first location of the school on Route #224, The Charles Anderson property deeded to Hugh Cousins consisted of 56 acre. Hugh deeded the property to his daugh— ter Mary Jane Coulter, widow of Mass. USA in 1899. Mary Jane's son, Waldo Coulter, deeded the property to Nelson T. Cousins in 1926, and his wife, Bessie deeded the property to Ruth Weeks MacLeod of Hunter River in 1930. Today this property is part of the King Cross Resort. Hugh and Jane had a family of seven children.

Hugh Cousins (1822 - Sept. 28, 1900) m. Jane South (1830 May 5, 1915) - from Montreal They had a family of eight children

1. Elizabeth In. F. Rose. She lived and died in Milton, Mass.

2. Mary m. Coulter - lived in US

3. Daniel. He moved to Milton, Mass.

4. Bessie M. - lived in US

6. Nelson b. Aug. 5, 1860 m. Bessie Bryanton, daughter of Johanna Bryanton Coles.

8. Catherine (1870 Feb. 23, 1921) Nelson and Bessie had three children: 1. Waldo 2. Doris 3. Laura

HAMILTON

ELMER HAMILTON m. ELLEN FOLLAND. Elmer purchased and came to live at the Cousin’s property in 1937. He bought it from Ruth Weeks MacLeod of Hunter River. The next owner of this property was Albert Fletcher. Today this house is part of the Kings' Cross Resort.

FLETCHER

ALBERT FLETCHER m. LENA SMITH d. July 27, 1991. Albert Fletcher and family lived in Charlottetown and St. Eleanor’s before moving to Stanley Bridge. They purchased the Cousin's property from Elmer L. Hamilton in 1946 and sold it to Byron Gamester of Breadalbane in 1958. It is now owned by Timothy Nagurski and Patrick Crook who bought it from Philip and Christine Gallant. Albert and Lena had one son, James (Sept. 3, 1939 - Apr. 12, 1991) m. Sondra Sutherland. Jim was a partner in Burke Electric. Jim and Sondra had four children:
