This home is now owned by Louise Carr and Brendan Reid, who retired from their large farm home located on the Reid Road. Brendon and Louise’s home was purchased by a niece of Louise’s, Christine Carr and husband Dawson Paynter. Christine is the daughter of George and Lorraine Carr of Village West.

JOHN BRENDAN son of Walter and May Cullen Reid b. Nov. 25, 1928 m. Nov. 13, 1954 LUCY LOUISE daughter of Earle and Christine Manderson Carr, b. Aug. 26, 1938. Brendan and Louise purchased the Walter Reid farm in 1955. Brendan, however, was operating the farm much earlier because his father worked at carpentry away from home. Louise is a homemaker and supervisor/Purchasing Agent at St. Ann’s Lobster Suppers. They sold their farm in 1994 to MacEwen Farms Ltd., and moved to the Don MacKay property on the Rattenbury Road. They

had five children.

1. Doreen we b. Oct. 6, 1955 m. Ivan Burkholtz. They live in Rainbow Lake, AB. They have two children: Christopher Lesley and Sharlee Amber.

2. Barbara Dianne b. Jan. 21, 1957 m. Tony Schulter on June 7, 1997. They live in

Rainbow Lake, AB.

4. Mary Lucy Kathleen b. June 13, 1960 m. Anthony Wakelin. They live on the Royalty Road in Winsloe, PEI. They have two children: Krista Rae and Chad

CAPT. JOHN MacKAY (1835—1887) m. ELEANOR (ELLEN) ROGERS - Mar. 9, 1865, b. 1841 lived on the Rattenbury Road. The Census records indicate that John was the son of Neil

MacKay although no information is available on this person.

Early records state that Neil MacKay purchased land from Samuel Cunard on Aug. 30, 1859 and deeded the land to John MacKay April 6, 1861.

(Sea Captain) John and Ellen Rogers MacKay had four children:
