GEORGE S. MacKAY’s brother, Kenneth, {grandson of William, the first settler} worked as a blacksmith in different villages, but settled in Margate. in 1893. At this time he had been appointed as an engineer of the Provincial roads and bridges.

One of Kenneth and Jane Cobb MacKay’s children, ,IOHN SUTHERLAND, and his wife, MYRTLE COLE MacKAY, after residing for a number of years in the Kensington area moved to Stanley Bridge in the late 1930’s. The family settled on the William MacKay / George S. MacKay land. They later owned the Dan Sutherland property, Rattenbury Road. John was the local mailman who hauled mail from Breadalbane to the Stanley Bridge Post Office.
