He was a Diocesan priest for the Charlottetown Diocese. {see CHURCHES} Thomas Reid I, Patrick Reid , and James Reid REID PATRICK (June 30, 1843 - Nov. 4, 1920) son of John Reid Sr. and Margaret Kent m. Feb. 3, 1874 to Annie MacAulay of . Patrick and Annie remained on the homestead property in Hope River where they farmed 61 acres of land. Of the 61 acres, 36 acres were deeded to Patrick from his father John Reid Sr. The remaining 25 acres were leased to Cornelius Murphy . Patrick and his father had been in continuous possession of the 25 acres for over thirty years. They had no documentary title on purchasing the land from Cornelius Murphy except the handling of the lease. This was conveyed to them by the CPL Joseph Pope in Dec. 1877. He built a new house near the original site. Lea and Marion Reid live here today. Patrick and Annie had one daughter, Beatrice Fraser Reid . She married Solomon McKenna , MD . They lived in Oyster Bed Bridge and had four children: 1. Ronald Joseph 2. Beatrice 3. Reginald 4. Harold Daniel LEANDER SEBASTIAN (Apr. 28, 1886 - Apr. 28, 1974) son of John Reid Jr. and Bridget MacGuigan m. Nov. 27, 1917 to MARGUERITE FLORENCE TURNER (Mar. 3, 1886 - Mar. 18, 1974), daughter of Will and Isabel Fraser Turner . Leander and Florrie farmed the homestead property on the Hope River Road. Leander acquired his first tract of land 62 acres from Patrick Reid in 1911. The following year he purchased 50 acres from Fred McGuigan . Subsequently, he purchased other acreages around the home farm. By 1949, Leander and Florrie had moved to Simpson's property which he had purchased in 1944. They con¬ tinued to farm. In 1960, they moved to West Royalty where they built a new home beside their old neighbours Walter and May Reid. Florrie combined homemaking with a love for flowers, handwork and music.
