MacEWEN

LORNE MacEWEN (Oct. 2, l898—Aug. 23, 1983), son of Joseph MacEwen and Victoria Slmpson MacEwen, In. July 1919 to JANE (Jean) JOHNSON (1895-1978). Lorne and Jean bought a 100 acre farm from J. Artemus Clark of BayView in 1921. Jean was born in Margate and moved to O’Leary when she was a young girl. She came to work at the Weir-Fyfe Grocery in Stanley where she met Lorne. In 1968, they sold their property and buildings to John Picketts. The MacEwen’s moved to the Picketts home in Margate. They had three sons: FRANK, BLOIS and HAROLD.

(1.) FRANK (1920-Sept. 20, 1990) m. Dec. 6, 1943 to EVELYN FOUND b. 1920. Frank and Evelyn operated the Family Clothing Store in Kensington where they lived.

They had six children:

1. Constance Marlene b. May 17, 1945 In. July 21, 1972 to Harold Giesbrecht. 2. Lowell Keith b. Apr. 24, 1947 m. Oct. 12, 1974 to Brett Ellinor Farssel.

3. Irwin Found b. Apr. 15, 1948 m. Apr. 14, 1973 to Leta Annie MacLeod.

4. Valerie Elaine b. Feb. 25, 1950 In. June 3, 1971 to Arnold Flynn.

5. Duane Lorne b. June 17, 1953 In. July 3, 1981 to Ann Hogan.

6. Marvin William b. Aug. 5, 1959 m. Oct. 22, 1983 to Sarah Jane Witts.

1. ERNEST LORNE b. July 17, 1948 m. Oct. 6, 1968 to PAULINE

BLANCHE JOYCE HILL b. Oct. 4, 1944 later divorced in 1995. They bought and farmed the grandfather’s farm in BayView from John Pickett in

1969. The Joe Bolger property was purchased in 1976. They have one son: 1. Scott Lorne b. Apr. 1, 1982.

(3.) HAROLD b. July 9, 1931 m. June 28, 1958 to ORIAN TAYLOR (Mar. 1, 1931- 1997). Harold is a bank manager in Montreal. They had two children:
