D. On Aug. 25th, 1948, at the King[s County Memorial Hospital, Montague, Mrs. George A. Poole, Lower Montague (nee Florence MacPhail). She was born in Georgetown Nov. 8, 1868 and taught school prior to her marriage in 1893. She is survived by a son, Raymond, three grandchildren and by a brother and sister in U.S.A. D. On August 20th, by drowning at the Ferry Wharf, Georgetown, Charles MacLeod, former school teacher and town clerk, .leaving to mourn a sister, Sadie, and brothers, Rev. Parmenas and Alban. (Patriot, Aug. 28, 1948 & Guardian, Aug. 21, 1948)

Boyce officiating, Miss Florence Dolina Stevens, daughterof Mr. & Mrs. Benjamin Stevens, Georgetown to Charles Alexander MacConnell, son of Mr. & Mrs. J.A.B. MacConnell, Georgetown. Attendants were Miss Marion George and Harry Stevens. Wedding supper was held at the home of Mr. & Mrs. Raymond Martell. D. At Georgetown, Oct. 18th, Louis H. Douglas, aged 75 years, former station-master at P.E.l. localities and latterly at Georgetown. He was born at the Head of Hillsboro, P.E.l., the son of Mr. & Mrs. William Henry Douglas. He was an elder of St. David’s Church and well—known for his church and community activities. He is survived by his wife, formerly Miss Matilda MacDonald and the following family: Marion (Mrs. Rodney Bruce), Montreal; Beth (Mrs. Edgar Lannon), Needham, Mass; Grace (Mrs. Frank Miller), East Royalty, P.E.l.; Ralph of Montreal; Helen (Mrs. Karl Cameron) of Halifax, and Gordon of Cranbrooke, B.C. D. Recently in the U. S. A., Mrs. Minnie Webster, sister of Andrew lavers, Georgetown, and Mrs. Owen, Halifax. She was a daughter of Mr. & Mrs. John Lavers, Georgetown and leaves a family in the United States. Her husband predeceased her in 1943. Burial in Dunstaffnage Cemetery, P.E.I. He leaves to mourn five daughters and two sons: Florence (Mrs. Cornelius Gaudet), Charlottetown; Della (Mrs. Albert Burke), Boston, Mass.; Carrie (Mrs. Jack Good), Winsloe, P.E.l.; Ada (Mrs. Vincent Coan), Boston, Julia (Mrs. Tabbie Grant), Saint John, N.B., Albert of Georgetown; John of St. Peter’s Bay, P.E.I..
