D. On Nov. lst, Alfred Clory, aged 47, carpenter, of a heart attack when on his way to the town policeman, Wilfred MacQuillan, to complain about the conduct of some Halloween pranksters. Survived by his wife and a large family and brothers, Harry, Joseph and Rufus. (From m, Nov. 2, 1949)

B. “Atthe King’s County Hospital, Montague, Nov. 9th to Mr. & Mrs. Edward Easton, Georgetown, a son, Lawrence Edward.” (Guardian, Nov. 24, 1949)

D. At Georgetown, Nov. 15, 1949, at the home of his sister Mrs. P.L. Boudreault, Joseph Kiggins, aged 49. He was born in Kelly’s Cross but resided in Georgetown for the last 25 years. He was a graduate of St. Dunstan’s University, attended Grand Seminary in Halifax, but then taught school in Georgetown and other places. He is survived by three brothers; Rev. Owen Kiggins, Georgetown; Aeneas, Kelly’s Cross and Mark in Cambridge, Mass; also by three sisters; Mrs. P.L. Boudreault and Mrs. Felix Morrison, both of Georgetown and Mrs. James Wilson, Cardigan. The funeral was from St. James Church with Rev. 0. Ki ggins assisted by others conducting the service. (From Guardian, Nov. 19, 1949)

D. “At the home of her granddaughter, Mrs. Muriel MacKenzie, Cardigan, on Nov. 15, 1949, Mrs. Joseph Henry Allen (nee Elizabeth Rose) in her 94th year. (Patriot, Nov. 25, 1949)

D. On Dec. 20th, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. David Lavers, Mrs. Nettie Ross, in her 68th year, widow of the late Peter Ross. She leaves to mourn three daughters and two sons: Ella (Mrs. David Iavers); Mrs. Myrtle Babineau and Eleanor (Mrs. James Llewellyn) all of Georgetown; Sheldon of Halifax, and Oliver, Charlottetown. D. In Charlottetown on Dec. 25th, 1949, Mrs. Duncan D. MacDonald, formerly of Georgetown. She was born Mary Esther Howlett in St. George’s on July 19, 1867, the daughter of George Howlett and Jane GVIacNeill) Howlett. She has lived in Charlottetown for the last 20 years. Left to mourn are sons: Lorne at home; Norman, Cambridge Mass; Edison, Montreal; and daughter, Florence, at home; also a step—daughter, Mrs. Ida M. Blood, Syracuse, NY. a brother Dr. James D. Howlett St. Petersburg, Fla. and a sister, Mrs, C. D Clay, Bridgetown, P.E.I. A son, Percy, predeceased her. She was a member of the Baptist Church. She leaves to mourn four sons: James of Boston; Merrick of Hamilton; George of Charlottetown, Edward of Georgetown, and two daughters: Jessie (Mrs. Foster) and Rhoda (Mrs. Herd), both of Lynn, Mass; also a sister, Margaret, in Boston.
