The regions of Brittany, Normandy, and Gascony, and the City of Aunis span the entire Western Coast of France. Moving from the coastal regions of France to the coast of Ile St. Jean, the lives of these settlers continued to revolve around the ocean and the fishing industry. Eighteen families may not seem like many, but compared to the capital Port La Joye, where only eleven families were living, it clearly demonstrates the attraction and importance of the St. Pierre location during the French Regime.
