enough, the department’s services were not required and the Irving Whale was resurfaced without any ecological disasters.
The St. Peters Fire Department has been called to many fires over the years, a few which have stood out, included the brush fire in Greenwich in 1986, the Co-op Store in 1992, Usen’s Fish Plant in Souris, and St. Theresa‘s Roman Catholic Church. With the recent expansion of the services of the department to respond to medical emergencies, as well as to fires, the communities within the fire district have been provided with an invaluable service. The members of the department who volunteer their time have also reinforced the sense of community where everybody looks out for their neighbor, and they do not hesitate a moment to respond to help from those who need it.
