Bideford to its present location in Ellerslie, it broke through the ice on the mill pond. It then had to be left until spring to finish its journey to Ellerslie. Peter Millar and his family lived in it from 1874—77 when he operated his steam sawmill in Ellerslie. Later, it was occupied by several generations in the Morrison family. John and Leslie Cartwright now own it. It is believed to be‘the oldest existing house in Ellerslie.
