Hillshuromch Bridre. Lharluttetown. P. E. L
The old Hillsboro Bridge. The stone bridge piers are all that remains now.
If Willard Stewart was the second shopper in our store, the first was likely George Beers. He lived just down the street from us on the same block and would come into
the store almost every day. He was a postmaster all his life. He was well-read, did some amateur acting in the local theatre, enjoyed reciting poetry and had a good singing voice. My sister, Jean, had light brown hair and he would sing to her the song, "I dream of Jeannie with the Light Brown Hair". He thought of himself as a philosopher and would spend hours in the store discussing and debating world affairs and always had an interesting quote. The one that always stayed with me was, "You
know Frank, the more I know people, the better I like my dog."
