The lady in the center is Mary Lubra Marji. She was one of the few women peddlers on the Island. She returned to Lebanon and raised her five children shown above. Albert Kays was married to my father’s sister Mary. Joe Kays was married to my mother’s sister Mariam. Sophia came with her four children in the 1950’s. Her oldest son Solomon ran North River Store, Said operated Tweel’s on University Avenue, Sue operates Haddad’s on Pownal street and Odette operated Spring Street grocery.
