Presbyterianism in Summerside 1853-2003 rewarding for the congregation. He worked with The Kirk Session to establish a series of Five Year Goals to help the church focus on the things that needed to be done. He had wonderful empathy for youth and enjoyed working with them. Through Profession of Faith he welcomed twenty- four young people into the Summerside Presbyterian Church membership in the spring of 2000: Grace Edison, Ashley Guergis, Jenna Hurst, Kristi-Jane Hurst, Jeff Le, Jantina MacLeod, Megan Moase, Catherine Morrison, Dan Ostapovich, Cody Pinkham, Lincoln Pe— ters, Amy Poirier, Daniel Schaefer, Rebecca Schaefer, Arika Simmons, Laura Simmons, Tara Simmons, Julie Stewart, Laura Stewart, Michael Walker, Rebecca Walker, Emily Waugh, Mark Waugh, and Peter Waugh. Rev. Harry saw personal relationships as being vital to being a good Christian: relationships with God, with friends, with the church as a family, and with the wider world. His sermons were occasionally informal, some- times personal, and always applicable to our everyday lives. He terminated his ministry in 2003 when he ac- cepted a call to Edmonton, Alberta. Rev. Ian Glass is serving as Interim Moderator. On the 150th Anniversary celebrations the congre- gation of Summerside Presbyterian Church is inspired by the strength, courage, and faith shown by its fore- fathers. Aware of the goodness of God and his bless— ings towards his people, the congregation looks for- ward with hope and optimism to the future. 69
