JAMES AND MARGARET MILLER AND DESCENDANTS

JAMES MILLER arrived in this country in 1813 with Donald MacLaughlan from Greenock, Scotland. James and his wife Margaret first settled in French Fort, Lot 35 where one son James Alan continued to farm. After settling other sons on farms, James Sr. acquired property at Five Mile House (now Marshfield) in 1850 from the Haythomes where he relocated with his son, William; the two farming successfully together. This property is on the northwest corner of St. Peters Rd. and York Rd.

William Arthur, son of William of Marshfield, is commended along with his forefathers in the Guardian newspaper article of December 24, 1937 following his death on December 22, 1937.
