Introduction The reason for publishing "The Complete Booh Of Island Churches At Of The Century" is to provide future generations with a visual history of the church huildings of Prince Edward Island as they appeared in the year 2000. The photographs from which the sketches were drawn were taken over a number of years on both sides of the year 2000. In any case, it is fair to state that this record of Island Churches is reasonably accurate and reflects the year 2000 at which time we celebrated the Turn Of The Century. On the date of publication, there were approximately 300 church buildings on Prince Edward Island . As I compiled this collection, a number of churches were closing, others being demolished, new churches being built and many more being renovated. As I have come to appreciate, church memberships and church settings evolve on a continual basis; thus, the total number of buildings varies from year to year. This book offers three hundred and two sketches and covers , , Kings County, Summerside and Charlottetown . As this project progressed, a number of Island residents provided photos of churches that were no longer in operation. I have included them in this book; in order to distinguish them from the main group of churches, each has been given the designation 'From The Past'. With the publication of "The Complete Book Of Island Churches", the four book historical project (Book 1 - Queens), (Book 2 - Prince), (Book 3 - Kings) and (Book 4 - The Complete Book) comes to an end . The preparation of the trilogy and the compilation of the three books was an adventure which has taken me to all parts of the "Island" - an experience of high interest and full of joy!
