The Cenotaph t the site of St . James Methodist Church and Cemetery Cemetery in 1922 in memory of the young men of the com¬ munity who lost their lives in World War I. It also served as a memorial for those whose lives were lost in World War II. The construction of the Cenotaph was organized by Mrs. Edward (Blanche) Miller and was unveiled by John Barrett , a First World War veteran who served overseas.
