Rev. Leslie Jay Rev. Leslie Jay , Minister from 1985-1986 Memories of United Church and the people of the community: It was my privilege to know the people of Lot 16 and to be in ministry with you on a half time basis for a mere ten months; the memories of that time are clear and dear to me. Last week ( 2001) I arrived in Sackville for a meeting of Conference Executive carrying a brief case and a friend teased me about, "having to get a new briefcase now that Gail (wife Gail is now also a minister) and I were presidents of Conference." I took great delight in pointing out the inscription on the case: "Presented in 1986 by the North Bedeque Pastoral Charge." When I recall my brief time with the people of North Bedeque one of my fondest memories is of all the wonderful meals I was served, for "I was a stranger away from home and you took me in." Such hospitality — such food! Then I remember leaving, for our time together had ended and you had called a full time permanent minister. We said our fond farewells in the summer of '86 and, with¬ in a month, Gail was stricken with a brain aneurysm. Lot 16 didn't really know Gail or our children, for they were in Charlottetown and she was working at Park Royal Church. You could have forgotten about me — about us, but you didn't ^ii. tf^^Ze^'...........*"* Rev.
