Explorers

Explorers was a national United Church group for girls between the ages of nine and eleven. Mrs. Henriettajohnston, wife of Rev. Ralphjohnston, approachedjune Hutchinson to form and assume leadership of a group in the Lot 16 United Church.]une accepted the challenge, and, under the guidance of Mrs.]ohnston, the group formed in the fall of 1961. Edith Betton acted as assistant leader. Annie Carr later assumed the assistant leader position and many of the weekly meetings were held at the Carr home.
