Both the members and leaders wore a uniform of a white shirt and navy skirt or pants to the meeting. Red star badges could be earned in various ways and were sewn on the arm of the blouse.

MID-WEEK GROUPS Messengers and Explorers
‘7?) learn more about God, and become better citizens qf the world,’ was the motto employed by organizers of the Bel- mont Baptist Church, and the Lot 16 United Church in a joint effort to start mid-week youth groups in the late 19705.
In 1977, Grace MacLaurin and Edith Yeo organized and led a worship and activity group for young girls between the ages of nine and eleven years. With time this group devel- oped into the Explorers program. Leaders through the years were: Grace MacLaurin, Edith Yeo,June MacLean, Shirley Milligan, Edith MacLean, Alice Maund, Helen Muttart, Tanya Mugridge, and Treena MacLeod.
Also in 1977, a group for pre—schoolers was organized under the leadership of Joyce MacKinnon and Levenia MacAusland. Later this group became known as Messen— gers, and was for six to eight-year-old children. Messengers is still very active. Leaders over the years were Dorothy
