Current organist Kendal Godkin for April 13 th of that year and a motion was passed to pur¬ chase the organ at a cost of $1,710. Congregational donations raised the funding with an additional $407.35 to spare. The organ was dedicated October 9, 1960 in "memory of the members and adherents of the Lot 16 United Church who have joined the church tri¬ umphant."11 The organ was in ser¬ vice for forty-two years before needing replacement. The congre¬ gation voted on November 10, 2002 to purchase a second-hand organ for the sum of $700. A new chapter in the history of the Lot 16 United Church ministry of music was written on Sunday, May 19, 2002 , when the family of the late Harold (former elder) and Ella (Williams) MacLean dedicated, in the couple's memory, an electric piano. Children , grandchildren, and great-grandchildren of the cou¬ ple gathered to witness and partici¬ pate in the dedication service. Mrs. Edith MacLean , a daughter-in-law of Harold and Ella, played the piano in accompaniment with the organ throughout the song worship portion of the service. 186 United Church and Its People
