Memories some good and some not so good! One Sunday my sister Arlene, Betty Coughlin, and I were asked to sing a special number one that was not in the hymn book. I had the words written on a sheet of paper and guess what? I forgot to take those words with me. Here we were with a hymn book in front of us and no words. I guess we knew the words of the first verse and that was it! Believe me I was not the
most popular kid on the block that day. I/Ve were rather embarrassed to say the least.
Another embarrassing experience I had was when I was organist — at a wedding at that! The guests were seated and I had been playing. just before the bride was to come in — I could not find the Bridal March. I didn’t know it of by heart — so what was I going to do?
I did what I had to do — go home after it.And there was no back door
to escape either! Lucky for me we lived next door. I’m not sure whether the bride ever knew what happened, but I surely never forgot.
