125 TH ANNIVERSARY
February 10, 2002 dawned an idyllic winter day. The prayers of the planning committee for the 125th anniversary of the Lot 16 United Church sanctuary had been answered. The committee, under the chairmanship of Donna Lyle, had taken the risk of planning the celebration service in February. They wanted a close re-enaclment of Feb.11,1877 when the congregation of the Lot 16 Presbyterian Church gathered to celebrate the opening of their new sanctuary.
Not unlike that first service, the congregation was joined by visitors from far and wide honoured to share in the cele- bration of 125 years of unbroken worship service. The Belmont Baptist Congregation joined in the two-hour cele- bration.
The theme of the anniversary service was “Reflections”
