Claudia McLellan

Claudia, the daughter of Winnifred and Fred Drummond, of Freetown, moved to Grand River with her husband, Joe McLellan in 1973. They have two daughters, Roxanne and Jolene. Joe died in 1988 and Claudia remains in the family home. Claudia taught Sunday School at Lot 16 United as did

her daughter, Jolene.

Manderson Family

James Manderson came to Lot 16 from New London in 1908. He and his wife, Minnie MacLeod, purchased part of the Crossman property. Their grandson, John, still lives on the property and operates a well digging business from the location. James and Minnie had a family of teanohn, Jean, Eva (James MacGregor), Ann, Maude, Betty, Marion, Lily (Edmond Compton), Leigh, andJames Orville. Leigh died in 1950, one of the first victims of polio;James Orville died in infancy.

Jack, a fisherman, married Eileen Skerry and the couple lived on the family homestead. Their family consists of Marcia, Barbara (Jim IVIillar), Nancy (Owen MacAusland), Cynthia (Stu Ducklow), Linda, John, Stephen, and Jill. Still connected to Lot 16 United are Marcia, who married Cpl. Dennis Bright; they have two daughters, Jeannie and Marianne. The Bright’s live in the Willie MacLean place on the Ferry Road. Linda (Osmond) lives in Summerside but attends Lot 16 United; her son, Marty Moison, died in a motorcycle crash and is buried in Lot 16 Cemetery. Her other son, Danny, lives in Summerside.John married Sheila Murray. They have three children:Jackson, Sarah and Nancy. Stephen and his wife, Peggy (Taylor), and their daughterJessica live in the Jabez Lidstone place. Jack died prematurely at age fifty leaving Eileen with a large family to raise and educate. She went out to work first at the journal-Pioneer and later as a book- keeper. She was also a skilled seamstress. Eileen was Central
